LISA CARRANZA, Biography
ELIZABETH (LISA) CARRANZA, AIA
Lisa Carranza was born and raised in Darien, CT. She was exposed to the world of architecture as a teenager, babysitting for a next-door neighbor who was an architect in New York City. She was inspired by the thought that what she was looking at on paper would turn into a building.
After graduating from Architecture school, Lisa stayed in the New York City area interning for various commercial and residential architects. Lisa’s love of skiing and biking brought her to live in Jackson Hole by way of Stowe, Vermont. The shear majesty of the Tetons and vast expanses of Wyoming inspired and influenced her to make Jackson her permanent home.
Along with Stephen Dynia, Lisa founded Dynia-Carranza Architects; later to be incorporated into Dynia Architects.
Lisa has been active in the design and planning community and has been instrumental in much of the responsible planning in the area over the many years. Lisa served for 7 years on the Town of Jackson Planning Commission and has also been involved in numerous local and joint County forums to help guide the pattern of growth in the valley. Lisa was involved in the formation of the Town of Jackson Design Review Committee and was an early grass roots supporter of the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust.
Along with Stephen Dynia, Lisa designed the first Housing Trust project, Mountain View Meadows. As a Senior Project Manager at Dynia Architects, Lisa has worked through the design, construction documents, and contract administration phases of numerous custom homes, housing, mixed-use and institutional projects.
